What Is This?

A semester-long marketing internship for incoming UVA first years that are interested in marketing, advertising or public relations.  We will be launching a mobile phone social networking service at UVA and interns will get a front row seat to the entire process of launching an internet application.  We are looking for several new first years to be a core marketing team at UVA.  This is a great way to get real world marketing, PR and internet experience as well as meet other students interested in marketing and PR.  Our launch party will be the second week of school.

Who Is This For?

Any UVA first-year that is interested in marketing, PR or advertising.  If you are socialable and outgoing and would rather lose your wallet than your phone, that will help too.  This will be a great resume experience (and won’t hurt if you are planning on going to the Comm school).

What You Will Be Doing?

Everything from brainstorming marketing strategy, testing and helping with website design, throwing parties and PR events and gathering market feedback.  It will be fun and relatively low-time commitment.  Plan on one hour-long meeting a week plus about another hours worth of non-meeting work (PR, running a party etc.).  Everything will happen on-grounds and after class time so transportation and classes won’t be an issue.

What is Cloudbrain?

Cloudbrain is a Internet company started out of UVA and based in Charlottesville.  We have several projects that you can read about on the website and we are also working on that next big thing.  There are 5 of us full time in our office Downtown plus several part-time students and interns.
